Efrem Gidey And Hannah Gilliand Land 2025 AXA Raheny 5

Efrem Gidey claimed his second AXA Raheny 5 title with a gun to tape victory on a stormy day in North Dublin.

Gidey took off early on, in what was a challenging day for competitors and organisers a like.

An 11th hour change of course was needed due after a course inspection in St. Anne’s Park. Thus, seeing the AXA Raheny 5 return to the James Larkin Road (Coast Road) for the first time in 10-years.

However, that didn’t face Gidey who powered home in 22 minutes 47 seconds to claim victory. Killian Mooney of DSD took second place in 23:51. While a powerful run from Colm Rooney in 24:05, took third place just three seconds clear of Jamie Fallon.

Hannah Gilliand of Annadale Striders took the women’s title in 26 minutes 34 seconds. Gilliand had 10 seconds to speare on Ide Nic Dhomhnaill of West Limerick with Jessica Craig of North Down third in 27:12.

The Dublin City Harriers team of Sorcha McAllister, Orla Duffy and Faye Dervan took the team event with 24 points. Raheny Shamrcok took second place with 32 points with DSD third with 59 points.

The men’s event went to Clonliffe Harriers with an impressive 14 points, while Raheny Shamrock took second place with 22 points and DCH took third place with 88 points.
