Orla Comerford scored a very impressive victory in the Para-Athletics 60m mixed classification at the European Athletics indoor championships.
Comerford totally controlled the race from the start coming home in 7.63 seconds, well clear of France’s Marie Ngoussou-Ngouyi who finished in a time of 7.99 with Zara Temmink recording a PB of 8.07 to take third.
It’s the first time para events have been included in the championships, a men’s long jump event also added to the timetable.
Orla goes down in the history books at the first para-athletics event winner at these championships.
