St. Patrick’s Weekend Racing Round-Up

Fiona Stack took second place at the Mullingar Half Marathon on St. Patrick’s Day in 79:55.

Elizabeth Carr of the host club, Mullingar Harriers won out in 76:21. Also running were Paul Gannon 81:24 and Gerard Fay 2:11:47.

Orla Gilheaney took second place tt the Up & Out Paddy’s Day Races over 10k in 49:55. Amy Colton of Clonliffe Harriers won out in 45:11.

Following Orla home was Sarah O’Neill 51:17, Melanie Hearns 53:31, De O’Connor 55:36 and Connor Jennings 56:40.

In the 5K race, Kevin O’Donnell posted 22:35 and over 10 mile, Julie O’Leary posted 1:42:02.

Also on Monday, Christopher Quaid posted 17:38 at the Streets of Portlaoise 5km. At the Tallaght AC 5km Paul Curtayne clocked 20:42.

On Sunday, at the Skerries 10km on Sunday, Colm Cassidy led home a big Raheny field posting 38 minutes and 12 seconds.

Cassidy was led home by Philip McGovern 40:46, Jeff Moore 41:12, Molly Rickard 41:45, Sarah Deneher 43:29, Karen Slye 45:14, Clare Fox 45:26, Jean Dunne 50:00, Greg O’Beirne 52:37, Ger Fay 56:51 and Siobhan Mulvey 62:53.

At the Savills Dublin Night Run on Sandymount Beach last Tuesday (March 11), Dave Keoghan clocked 49:54 and Ger Fay 61:54.
