Weekend Road Racing Round-Up

On Saturday, Fiona Roche took second place at the Drogheda 10km in 36:47. Aine Cotter of North East Runners won out in a course record 36:02

Roche was followed home by Colm Dunne 37:20, Michael King 45:27, Orla Gilheaney 46:14 and Gerard Fay 55:26.

At the Sportsworld Terenure Five mile, Ciara Brady took third place in 30 minutes and 14 seconds.

In the men’s race, David Rooney took 10th place at the Sportsworld Terenure 5 Mile in 26 minutes 51 seconds with Cian Charlton posting 26:55 in 11th place.

Ronan Wogan came home in 27:16, followed by Graham Ahearne 27:43, Sean Kelly 28:24, Keith Fleming 31:49, David O’Hara 33:07, Patrick Nolan 33:20, Michael English 34:44.

On Thursday night, Mark Kirwan won the Sandyford 5km in 16 minutes eight seconds followed by Maria Dolan 20:30, Gerard Fay 24:28, Shane Folan 28:59 and Clare McKenna 29:15.

Elsewhere at the Leixlip 5km Gerard Fay posted 24:43 and at the Art O’Neill Pursuit, Yann O’Heireamhoin clocked 3:08:59.

At the Waterville Trail Running Festival at the two day event over 68km Keith Comiskey posted 10:48:48. At the Saturday event Sue O’Toole posted 3:43:44. At the Bweeng Trail Blazers 5km Deirbhile O’Keeffe clocked 21:42.
