Sophie Becker, Niamh Fogarty, Brian Fay, Eric Favors and Michael Farrelly have all been named on the Irish team for the European team championships.
It is a first senior international call-up for Farrelly as he is named in the 4x100m squad.
The 46-strong team travel to the European Athletics Team Championships 2nd Division, which take place in Maribor, Slovenia on June 28th and 29th.
Sophie Becker is named as Ireland’s women’s 400m runner and is also in the panel for the mixed 4x400m relay.
Niamh Fogarty is selected for the women’s discus, having broken the long standing national record earlier this year.
Brian Fay is named as Ireland’s runner in the 5,000m after some good performances in this season’s Diamond League.
Whereas, Eric Favors is selected in the men’s shot put with the national record holder looking to impress ahead of the World Championships.
