Claw wins in Athenry and round up December 26/27

Mick Clohisey made it five in a row at the fields of Athenry 10K on St.Stephen’s Morning.

Claw clocked 30 minutes 35 seconds for his fifth win out West in a row having passed half way in 15 minutes 34 seconds, winning out a full two minutes clear of GCH’s Matthew Bidwell.

Vinny Clohisey kept the family story up clocking 44:42 as there was no excess turkey in the Clohisey household.

Also on St. Stephen’s Day Orla Gormley was the first woman home in the Bull run on Dollymount Strand with Ciara Losty second and Margaret Wyse third.

Simon Ryan won the Robbie Byrne 5K in Navan on Tuesday, stopping the clock in 16 minutes five seconds with Scott Hazell of Coventry Goovia second in 16 minutes 30 seconds.

Annette Kealy was the first club athlete home in the Clonliffe Christmas Cracker posting 18 minutes 14 seconds for 5K.

Other finishers were, Patrick Philips 18:45, Aine Crimin 19:33, Martin Kelly 19:49, John Freir 20:33, Mary Purdue-Smyth 23:31.
