Women’s Team Make Track & League Final

Blaithin Sheil’s Raheny Shamrock Women’s team grabbed qualification for the premier division final on the qualify day of the national track and field league.

Sheil’s team took seventh place, securing a place in the premier division final on July 27th.

On the day in Tullamore there was victories for Niamh Fogarty in the shot put and discus. Daphni Doulaptsi Teeuwen claimed wins in the triple jump and long jump.

Lucy Barrett took second place in the 3000 metres while Angela Castell Rodriguez took third place in the 100 metres as the team scored 139 points to take eighth place.

Jamie Davis men’s side will compete in the division one in what turned out to be a very competitive qualifying round.

The team had some good highlights as Oisin McCorry won the 400m hurdles, Michael Farrelly took second place in the 100m and the 4x100m team took fourth place.

A very competitive competition saw the young side finish in 10th place and will move forward to the first division final.
