Raheny Shamrock Shot Put Classic – Event Instructions

Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club are delighted to welcome you to the first Raheny Shamrock Shot Put Classic.

We are very proud to deliver our first street athletics event and to welcome shot putters from across the country to Raheny.

We are very happy to report, that interest in this event, has surpassed our expectations. We would like to thank our friends in Lusk A.C and Metro St. Brigids A.C for their assistance with this event.

We ask you to try and assist us by following the below instructions.

Registration & Number Collection

Registration is available on the day with entry set at €5 for juniors, seniors and masters and €2 for juveniles.

Registration is available in Raheny Shamrock AC club house at Howth Road, Raheny, Dublin 5, D05 T8N8 from noon.

Number collection is also available from noon at the Raheny Shamrock AC clubhouse.

Changing facilities & Warm up

Changing facilities are available in Raheny Shamrock AC clubhouse. Please note there are no shower facilities.

There are two warm up areas.

Warm-up area one is set in the Raheny Shamrock Clubhouse gym

Warm-up are two will be located at the event venue.

Event Area and Start Time

The Event area is located Rectory Park on Wades Avenue, Raheny.

The event is set to start at 1pm.

The event director and referee will confirm the event schedule on event day.

Each competitor will be allowed six throws each.

A small presentation will take place after the event.

Spectators

Spectators will be allowed into the event area. We ask spectators to please follow the instructions of the stewards throughout.

For those, experiencing shot put for the first time, the below video will give an explainer of the competition and what to look out for.

Refreshments

The lunch and brew coffee bar is open at Raheny United football club located approximately 50 metres from the start/finish area.

Getting to Raheny

Raheny is served by; Dublin Bus routes H1, H2, H3.

Via the Dart, Raheny is located Northbound on the Howth/Malahide line from Dublin City Centre.

The station is located 400 meters from the event area.

There is limited parking available in Raheny Church with limited public parking also available in Raheny Village. There is parking available in St. Anne’s tennis club public car park.
