Men win in Kilcock Woods third in Clontarf

The senior men’s claimed victory at the St. Coca’s 5K in Kilcock, Kildare on Friday night.

Mark Kirwan made his return since injuring his collar bone in the national road relays to take fourth place in 15 minutes eight seconds. The race was won by Clonliffe’s Ian Guiden in 14:38.

Ian Conroy was just five seconds behind Kirwan in fifth place with Freddy Sittuk four seconds and one place behind Conroy.

Feidhlim Kelly made up the team finishing ninth and bringing the Shamrock men’s team home to 24 points, well clear of Donore Harriers who posted 62 points.

Other runners in Kilcock were Ciaran McCarthy 15:54, Colm Delaney 16:30, Eamon Traynor 17:15 and Jenny Mulry 19:02.

On Saturday Annmarie Woods posted 92 minutes 24 seconds to finish as third woman at the Clontarf Half Marathon.

Graham O’Dwyer clocked 83 minutes 43 seconds to finish in fifth place overall as the race was won by Spain’s Jesus Calle Arroyo in 69 minutes 19 seconds.

Other finishers from the half marathon were Wesley Grant 88:02, Gerard Mullins 88:50, Patrick Phillips 90:40, Keith Fleming 94:36, David Hodson 98:13, Angela Charlton 1:54.16 and Meave Devlin 2:41.50.

Fiona Victory was third woman home in the 5 mile race posting 32 minutes 29 seconds. Elaine McNulty posted 33:52 and Tommy Crampton 33:50.

Seamus Rooney posted 1:34.27 in the Achil Half Marathon to finish 3rd over 50.
