Raheny Shamrock are saddened to learn of the passing of our member and friend Mary O’Sullivan. Mary is the wife of club coach Tom O’Sullivan and mother to long time members Carl, Neil and Jenny. Kieran Kelly won the national five mile title in the Phoenix Park this afternoon, clocking 24 minutes 11 seconds. Kelly was some 18 seconds clear of Moy Valley’s Luke Johnston in second place. Kelly was followed home by Michael Brady 26:06, Anthony Sharkey 26:52 and Ciaran McCarthy 27:10 as the team took the national five mile title. Round two of the Lord Mayor of Raheny two mile series saw a second win in a row for Anthony Sharkey and a new women’s winner in Aine Crimin.
The 2024 Lord Mayor of Raheny Two Mile series continues this Tuesday June 18th at 8pm. Entry is €7 for each race or €50 for the remaining 12 races and the 2024 Jim Wall Handicap on Tuesday September 10th.
