Kate Purcell was an impressive winner at the Bohermeen half-marathon posting 78 minutes and 28 seconds. There was great success for Raheny athletes at the All-Ireland Schools cross country championship on Saturday. The St. Paul’s College Raheny junior boys team took silver. The team included three shamrock’s Conrad Latham, Odhran Fidegon and Donagh Kirwan. The team clocked 138 points and were just seven points behind gold medallist’s CBS Naas. Brian Fay rounded out his NCAA indoor season finishing eighth in the mile and 15th in the 3,000 metres. Fay clocked 4:05.70 in the mile to take eighth place. Eric Favors set a new national of 20.66 metres to claim fifth place in the men’s shot put at the European throws cup in Portugal.
