On Monday evening December 12th an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club considered a motion to convert the club to a Company Limited by Guarantee. This motion was passed by unanimous decision. The club committee with the club’s legal representatives have now begun a body of work to complete the process. An update will issued by the club’s committee in due course.
Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club host the National Race Walk championship in St Anne’s Park this Sunday. The national championship doubles as a World Athletics race walk tour bronze category race and includes World bronze medallist Sweden’s Perseus Karlstrom. Athletes including Olympians Brendan Boyce, David Kenny and Kate Veale will take to the 2,000m looped course from 11am. The race course is located on the main avenue in St. Anne’s Park….
There was action a plenty indoors on Wednesday night at the latest NIA live meet in the National indoor arena. Sean L’Estrange won the fourth heat of the 60 metres in 7.03 seconds. Michael Farrelly took fourth place in heat five in 7.13 seconds. Patricia O’Cleirigh clocked 2:51.60 in the 800 metres. Conall Rogers took second plae in the men’s heat two in 1:59.41.
