Carmel Ward Wins Longford Marathon

Carmel Ward won the Longford marathon in three hours eight minutes and 44 seconds, finishing 13th overall. Ward was always in control of the women’s race and finished some 10 minutes clear of second placed Lisa Crowley. Sean Kelly was the first Raheny athlete home in the Antrim coast half-marathon clocking 66:51. Leinster Half-Marathon Team Bronze Medals

Another good day at the Tullamore half-marathon incorporating the famous Quinlan Cup and Leinster half-marathon championship. Robert Frewen led the team home in 10th place clocking 74:13 followed by Ian McConkey in 76:27, Eric Champ 77:52 and Chris Quaid 79:49.
