Niall Buckley was the first Raheny athlete home at the Na Cosontoir 10km in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday. Buckley clocked 40 minutes and 51 seconds. Buckley was followed by Dylan Evenden 43:41, Martin Kelly 43:55 and John Frier 50:14. The race was won by John O’Sullivan-Hourihan in 30 minutes 58.

There was drama a plenty as the cross-country season kicked-off in Tymon Park as Shane Spring took Dublin novice gold. In a dramatic sprint for the line with Eddie O’Connor of Brothers Pearse, both athlete’s crossed the line together. A stewards enquiry was required to separate gold from silver.
