The Raheny Shamrock men’s team took second place at the Lucan Harriers 5K on Sunday. David Jackson led the team home, taking 10th place in 29:34 followed by Brian Cotter 33:17, David Dooley 33:52 and Niall Buckley 34:36. Despite the weather warning of torrential rain, the sun shone on Clonmel long enough for nearly 700 masters athletes ranging from 35-80 to compete a hugely challenging course to determine the world champions in all masters ages.
