Elena Forkan took fourth place in the under-17 race at the celtic games cross country at the Billy Neill MBE Country Park. Forkan was first scorer on the Irish team that came second to Wales in the Celtic Games Girls Under 17 event. Congratulations to Elena and best wishes in the green of Ireland and green and white of Raheny.
There was excellent running by Raheny Shamrock athlete’s at national uneven age championships held Gowran, Co. Kilkenny. Very good running in the girls under-13 race from Claire Aoife O’Leary, Maggie Foley, Ciara Woods, Sophie Kelly, Rebecca O’Rourke and Olivia Meikle. Elena Forkan had a great run at the National under-16 cross country championship finishing fith overall and leading the Raheny team home. The team of Forkan, Siomha Magee, Darerca O’Sullivan, and Grace Meikle finished 12th team overall in a very competitive national field. Forkan was second scorer on both the Dublin and regional gold medal winning teams.
