Clohisey rules Ballycotton

Mick Clohisey landed the biggest road race title outside Dublin with victory in the prestigious Ballycotton 10 Mile on Sunday.

The Rio 2016 Olympian put Clonliffes Sergiu Ciobanu and Clonmel’s Kevin Mansuell to the sword around the halfway stage to power to victory in 49 minutes 20 seconds.

National marathon champion Sergiu Ciobanu took second place in 49:46 some 26 seconds behind Clohisey who name is now inscribed down in Cork as the winner of the 40th Ballycotton 10.

Clohisey joins Pat Hooper (1978) and Vinny Mulvey (2006, 2008, 2009) as winners of the Ballycotton 10.

There were in total 19 Raheny athletes crossed finish the line in Ballycotton;
