Bermingham secures Leinster Crown

Conor Bermingham added another gold medal to his bulging tally this time claiming Leinster championship gold in Tullamore.

Bermingham vaulted to gold with a best of four metres winning gold on count back from St Laurance O’Toole’s Matthew Callinan Keenan.

Callinan Keenan had failed his first attempt at four metres while both men were unable to clear 4.20 metres, seeing Bermingham crowned Leinster champion.

There was a total of six medals collected in Tullamore as the Leinster senior, Under 23 and masters championships took place.

Orla Lambe took over 35 100 metre bronze in 15.75 seconds and 200 metre bronze in 32.97 seconds. Liam Sheehan set a new personal best of 11.99 seconds for 100 metres.

Sheehan then took posted 24.33 seconds for 200 metres. Gerard O’Rourke took fourth place in the over 50 100 metres in 13.36 seconds.

Mick Martin landed over 50 silver in the 400 metres, while Will Walsh took over 35 800 metre silver in 2:09.72 and Niall Power took silver in the over 40 race in 2:15.79.
