Wall Beats Freddy

Freddy Keron Sittuk took second place at the SSE Airtricity Walled City Marathon in Derry posting 2:26.14 behind Dan Tanui who won out in 2:25.26.

At the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon Dermot Gorman was first Raheny man home in 2:50:45 with Gerard Mullins posting 3:25:40.

Marathon man himself Dave Brady posted four hours 53 minutes 14 seconds.

In the half marathon Graham O’Dwyer clocked one hour 22 minutes and eight seconds for 24th place while Alan Browne clocked 2:09.23.

Last Tuesday evening Mick Clohisey won the BHAA Government services 5 mile in 23 minutes 27 seconds, nine seconds clear of Kevin Maunsell.

John Dunne took fifth place in 25 minutes 49 seconds.

Others who took part in Dunboyne were Wesley O’Brien 26:37, Mary Purdue-Smyth 38:15, Christy Reilly 38:24 and Niamh Donnellan 42:39.

On the same night in the Clonliffe Harriers Grand prix series, The Santry Demense 2.5 Mile race saw Connor Jennings post 18:09 and Dave Brady 21:06.
