Clohisey Wins the Lakes 10k

Mick Clohisey kicked off the 2017/18 season in style winning the Lakes 10k in Blessington Co. Wicklow.

Clohisey posted 30 minutes 50 seconds for a comfortable victory nearly four minutes clear of second place Wes O’Brien.

Freddy Sittuk completed another double, this time twice in one day as he won the tony Donoghue Moone 10k in County Kildare.

Sittuk posted 32 minutes three seconds well clear of second place Malcolm McDonnell of Mullingar Harriers who posted 33:59.

Sittuk then made a dash up the M1 to win the Dromiskin 5K in 15 minutes two seconds some 22 seconds ahead of Balbriggan & District’s Valdas Dopolskas.

Dave Brady posted 4:56.13 in the Marathon Club of Ireland marathon in 2017.

On Wednesday Tara Kennedy Monks took third place in the Grant Thornton Corporate 5K in 18;33 helping the mixed Defence Forces team to second place.

At the Clonliffe Harriers  grand prix 10,000m on Thursday, Connor Jennings clocked 45:47 and Dave Brady 53:06.
