Weekend Round Up

There were some good performances by both the men’s and women’s team at the Indoor League in Athlone. Colm Bourke set a new club indoor record of 6.99m on his way to victory in the long jump. Conor Bermingham was second in the pole vault in 3.90m while Luc Bellintani was third in the 60m in 7:18. Brion Hoban was fourth in the shot with a 10.14m which was a club indoor record while in the 800m Daniel Scully was 5th in 2:01:86. The men’s team currently lie 5th going into the second round.

On the women’s front, Maeve Sheehan was 3rd in the long jump with 4.80m and 5th in the 60mH in 10:64. Mieke Kiernan was 6th in the shot with 7.83m with Aoibhinn McGoldrick 9th in the 800m in 2:29:44 and Maria Murphy running 8.77m in the 60m for 10th. The women’s team are 8th overall. In the guest competitions Luc Bellantani jumped 6.86m for 1st place in the long jump, while in the 60m Liam Sheehan ran 7:74 and Conor Quinn ran 8:02.

Damien Martin won St Annes parkrun in 17:26 while Lucy Barret was first female in 19:59. Other finishers were Declan Robinson 18:28, Alan O’Flynn 18:48, Martin Kelly 19:12, John Freir 19:47, Des Lyons 21:56, Caroline Farrelly 22:20, Rachel Ormond 22:54, Christy Reilly 23:52, Siobhan Foley 24:21, Connor Jennings 24:28, Emma Harrison 25:23, Sinead Lyons 25:30, Fiona Coyle 25:38, Sue O’Toole 26:00, Valerie Clinton 26:30. Karl Meehan won Father Collins parkrun in 19:48 while Ross Lundy was second in 20:21. Aileen Hooper was first won in 22:29 with Rachel Markey second in 23:12. Dave Gargan ran 19:02 in Donabate. Seamus Rooney ran 19:43 in Malahide. Other finishers were Brian Quigley 20:32, Eddie Harrison 20:57, Steven Rowe 23:10, Larry Fox 31:14. Helen Carr was first female in Johnstown in 20:05
