Mick Clohisey will lead the Irish marathon team at the 2018 European Championships in Berlin.
Athletics Ireland have this evening announced the Irish marathon men’s and women’s teams which take part in Berlin 2018.
The Irish men’s marathon team which will compete on Sunday August 12.
Mick Clohisey – Raheny Shamrock
Sergiu Ciobanu – Clonliffe Harriers
Sean Hehir – Rathfarnham WSAF
Paul Pollock – Annadale Striders
Stephen Scullion – Clonliffe Harriers
Kevin Seaward – St Malachy’s
The Irish women’s team is;
Breege Connolly – North Belfast Harriers
Gladys Ganiel – North Belfast Harriers
Laura Graham – Mourne Runners
Lizzie Lee – Leevale
Claire McCarthy – Leevale
Clohisey has previously competed at the European Championships in Amsterdam 2016 over the half-marathon distance.
Pat Hooper, Dick Hooper, Paddy McGrath and David Rooney are the other Raheny Shamrock athletes who have competed in the European Championships.
