The Dublin athletic board graded series got underway on Wednesday evening in Morton Stadium, with some big performances from Raheny athletes.
Mark Smyth got his season off to solid start, winning the 100 metre’s A grade in 11.17 seconds.
In the B1 race Liam Sheehan took fourth place in 12.11 seconds while in the B2 race Michael Farrelly won out in 11.41 with Sean Dowling second in 11.77 seconds. Matthew Cotter took fifth place in 12.30 seconds.
In the C grade race two Eden Hurley posted 12.88 seconds.
In the women’s 100 meters Kim O’Hare took second place in 13.42 seconds in the B grade with Deirbhile O’Keefe fourth in the C grade in 14.67 seconds.
Aoibhinn McGoldrick took second place in the A grade 800 metres in 2:19.54 with Deirbhile O’Keefe taking fifth place in the C grade in 2:40.14 with Eimear O’Keefe seventh in the 2:43.86.
Adrienne Atkins clocked 2.40.53 for third place in the 800 metre C grade second race.
Brian Fay won the men’s 800 metre A race in 1:55.88 with Eoin Strutt fifth in 1:57.64.
In the B grade race Sean Barrett took seventh in 2.09.64 with Donal Foley eighth in 2:10.79.
While in the C grade Ruairi Walsh took eighth place in 2:19.83. David McDonnell took third place in the D grade in 2:31.80 with Jim Keogh seventh in 2:46.01.
James Hyland took 10th place in the 3,000 metres in 9:38.98 while Laura Fallon took third place in the pole vault with a best of 2.2 metres.
Meanwhile on Tuesday evening Robert Frewen won the Malahide Community School 5k in 17 minutes 33 seconds.
Annette Kealy won the women’s race in 19 minutes 12 seconds. Others who ran were Connor Jennings 22:41 and Angela Charlton 25:14.
