Dublin Juvenile Team Championship/ Children’s Games.

☀️ The sun beamed down in Irishtown stadium as the youngest Shamrocks scorched on the track. 🔥

On Sunday May 24th our u9s, u10s and u11s turned out en masse to represent the club in the Dublin Team Championships

This is a one day multi-event competition which aims to promote participation, retention, fun, and the development of broad fundamental skills. Each of our athletes participated in two track or field events as part of a small team.

There were super performances across the board with PBs set and Raheny Shamrock AC finished in 8th place overall out of 33 teams 💪.  Our U9 turbo javalin team represented the club on the podium winning bronze medals. Our u11 relay team and 600m team narrowly missed out on medals.

The sunburned juvenile coaches would like to thank all the parents who trecked across town on a scorching day, kept everyone hydrated despite stocks running low, and braved the moans of overheating children, while also cheering everyone on from the sidelines. Particular thanks to Olive and Madeleine for volunteering as officials on the day.

The future is bright (and will need to involve aftersun)
