Kim O’Hare Breaks Club Record At Indoor League

Kim O’Hare set a new club record in the long jump while the Raheny Shamrock Men’s team sit in second place after the opening day of the Indoor Track and Field league.

Cillian Kirwan won the 800 metres in 1:56.16, points six seconds clear of Crusaders Kevin Woods.

Peter O`Brien took joint second in the pole vault with a best of 3.70 metres, sharing second with Clonliffe Harriers David Donegan.

While there were third place finishes for Sean O’Driscoll in the 60 metres and Matt Cotter new personal best of 6.30m in the Long Jump. Mick Hynes took fourth place in the Shot put with a best of 8.70m, quite a bit behind Eric Favors new club record.

The ladies team finished in eighth place and have a piece of work today to make the league final.

Kim O`Hare set a new club record on the way to winning the long jump in 5.35 metres, while Aoibhinn McGoldrick took second place in the 800 metres clocking 2:18.08 behind Leevale’s Louise Shannon in 2:16.30.

While Laura Fallon took fourth place in the pole vault in 2.30 metres with Aisling Carroll clocking 8.81 seconds in the 60 metres

Elsewhere a number of quests competed in the National indoor arena today as part of the day one of the national indoor track and field league.

In the 60 metres Mark Smyth posted 6.97 for a personal best, Sean O Driscoll 7.00, Michael Farrelly 7.15 and Liam Sheehan 7.68.

In the 800 metres Jamie Sheridan 2.01.58 and in the 1500 metres Andrew Hyland posted 4.08.36, Dylan O Brien 4.27.30, Donal Foley 4.29.98.
