Road Racing Roundup Week Ending 5th July 2026

It was another busy and successful weekend for Raheny Shamrock AC, with club members in action across road races on Friday and Saturday. From the fast 5km in Bettystown to the ever-popular Clontarf Half Marathon, there were strong performances, determined racing, and plenty of green and white on show.

Friday: Cilles Bettystown 5km

Friday evening saw Gerard Fay and Angela Charlton take on the Cilles Bettystown 5km. Gerard crossed the line in 25:13, with Angela following in 27:08, both putting in solid efforts over the distance.

Saturday: Clontarf Half Marathon

On Saturday, a large Raheny Shamrock AC contingent lined up for the Clontarf Half Marathon. Peter Leonard led the club home in an excellent 1:26:39, closely followed by Stephen McGuinness in 1:27:40. Susie O’Flynn produced a standout run to finish in 1:30:40, while Marc Hickey, Bernadette Bruen, Sean Ryan and Mark O’Riordan all delivered strong performances inside the 1:37 mark.

There were determined runs throughout the field, with Derek Owens, Jonathan Kelly, Aaron O’Hagan, Noreen Coffey, Nicola Boyle, Gerard Fay, Brian Hayes and Walter McConnell all completing the half marathon and adding to a strong club showing on the day.

Well done to everyone who raced and represented Raheny Shamrock AC over the weekend. Congratulations to all athletes on their performances.
