Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club are delighted to confirm the national road relays will take place in Raheny on Sunday October third after invitation from Athletics Ireland.
This will be the 19th time in a row that the road relays will take place in Raheny on it’s now traditional lap starting on Wades Avenue onto the Howth Road by St. Annes Park and finishing on Wades Avenue.
“We are delighted to welcome the national road relays back to Raheny, particularly as this is the first national road championship since the pandemic began” said Raheny Shamrock director of road racing Dave Hooper.
“I would like to thank the local authorises especially the members of An Garda Siochana in Clontarf and Raheny for their co-operation and guidance in allowing us to host the road relays this years”.
“I also have to thank Athletics Ireland competition chairs past and present John Cronin and Andrew Lynam who we have been working with since the postponement of the 2020 road relays”.
“We look forward to continue our relationship with Athletics Ireland and we have already started planning to host the national race walks championships in St. Annes Park in December.”
