Stone Helps DCU To College Bronze

Plenty of racing took place over the weekend as restrictions ease and racing returns to a level of normality.

It was a case of better late then never for the Irish university cross country championship, this championship is usually held in March, but due to Covid-19 got a September date in 2021.

Daniel Stone helped DCU to bronze medals in the men’s race when he came home in 11th place. Stephen Fay running in the colours of Trinity took 21st place.

In the colours of UCD Lucy Barrett took sixth place in the women’s race.

Elsewhere Kate Purcell won the EcoTrail 18k in Bray on Saturday clocking 94.42 and had nearly a minute to spare on second place Kieran James.

At the community games Elena Forkan took bronze in the girls U16 1500m and George Boys took sixth place in the U14 800m
