Men’s Team Produce Leinster Championship Clean Sweep

Daniel Stone landed the Leinster senior cross country championship leading home a Raheny Shamrock clean sweep.

Stone took gold with Mick Clohisey seven seconds behind taking silver and Gavin Eccles taking bronze a further nine seconds back.

Dylan O’Brien ran a very strong 12 place finish to give the men’s team 18 points and the Leinster senior title a remarkable 56 points clear of St. Abbans. Bronze went to Sli Cualann with 102 points.

Robert Frewen was the non-scoring team member finishing in 13th place!!! Not very many times that such a good run is outside a scoring team place!

This I believe is the first time one club has taken individual gold, silver and bronze and team gold! A deserved Leinster title for the men’s team.

The four Raheny Shamrock members also made the six man Dublin county team which took gold and was managed by Dick Hooper.

The senior women’s team sixth place just 17 points off bronze. Lucy Barrett was first home in 10th place followed by Zoe Quinn (13th), Orla Manley (46th) and Laura Brennan (53rd) were the scoring members.
