Back In Business For The BHAA

After nearly a two year absence, the BHAA kicked off their 2022 race calendar with muck and dirt.

The Bank of Ireland cross country event took place in Tymon Park for a combined 6k race. Online entry and covid-19 guidelines made this a totally outdoor event and without the infamous tea and goodies.

With no changing rooms or showers it was a case of back to basics. But everyone was delighted to be able to take part and meet old rivals and battle with new ones.

With 178 finishers in the combined event organisers were delighted to be back up and running.

The evergreen June Cumiskey crossed the line in first position in the o/70 age group, Mary Purdue Smyth was second o/55 and Angela Charlton second o/50.

Michael McEnery was the overall first Raheny athlete home on the day in 34th place followed by Dave Gargan, Brian Cotter, Dan Wallace, Mary Purdue Smyth, Angela Charlton, Vinny Clohisey, Sinead Lyons, David Byrne and June Cumiskey.
