Clohisey Wins Great Ireland Run

Mick Clohisey landed the Great Ireland Run and the National 10K title in the Phoenix Park today.

Clohisey enjoyed a great battle with Jamie Fallon of Craughwell AC which saw the pair crossing the halfway point neck-and-neck, before Clohisey slowly pulled away with 3k remaining to finish in 30:49.

The win marks a second national 10k title for the Clohisey his 11th national title overall. Fallon took silver in 30:57 with Rory O’Connor of North Cork third in 31:25.

A large Raheny contingent ran with Annette Kealy second Raheny athlete home in 37:26 followed by Aisling Ahern 37:35, Zoe Quinn 37:59, Peter Roan 39:01.
