Dublin Graded Series Gets Underway

The Dublin graded track and field series kicked off in Tallaght track, with a number of good performances Southside!

Juan Ignacio Peña took second place in the A 800 metres posting 1:58.17 for second place behind Tallaght’s Mustafe Nasir in 1:56.72. Elsewhere Souvik Ghosh posted 2:45.8 in the D2 race.

In the women’s race, Aoibhe Rooney clocked 2:43.58 in the C2 grade for fifth place.

Dara Mac Riocaird clocked 9:46.26 fourth in the 3,000m A grade race while Souvik Ghosh posted 12.33.11 in the C1 race.

In the sprints Donal Kearns took fourth place in the BC 100m race posting 12.27 seconds. This race was won by David Oghuvbu of Naas in 11.52 seconds.

While Paul Curtayne was multi-eventer of the night, first posting 15.15 seconds in the 100 metre CD race. Then 2:38.96 in 800m D race. In the high jump Curtayne jumped 1.35m and then threw 8.41m in the shot putt.

On the roads last weekend, Niall O’Neill was first Raheny athlete home at the Wexford half-marathon in 82:20.

Brian Aherne clocked 1:43.28 and Kate Lorigan 2:23.59. In the 10K race Patricia Lorigan clocked 61:33.
