Brian Fay took an excellent seventh place in the NCAA 5,000m final on Friday night in the famous Hayward Field, Eugene.
Fay clocked 13 minutes 31.39 seconds to round off a brilliant first season for Washington State.
The race was won by Olin Hacker of Wisconsin in 13:27.73. Fay was less than three seconds off bronze, with silver going to Morgan Beadlesomb in 13:28.38 and bronze to Nico Young in 13:28.62.
A great run and a brilliant way for Fay to round off his freshman year.
At the Watford BMC on Saturday, Niamh Kearney clocked 4:25.92 for seventh in the 1500m women’s C race.
In the 1500m C men’s race Kieran Kelly posted 3:48.65 for seventh. Juan Ignacio Pena Pizarro set a new personal best of 3:47.92 for third place in the D race.
Susie O’Flynn won the women’s E race in 2:14.08.
