Shamrock Athletes Clean Up At Brothers Schools Cross Country

Wednesday October fifth saw the welcome return of the Brothers schools cross country in Trinity Sports grounds after a Covid hiatus of two years.

Luckily our secondary school athletes hadn’t taken the same break and trained extremely hard under the tutelage of their coaches.

The minor girls 1000m race was full to the brim with 175 participants.  Maggie Foley came in second leading her Holy Faith team to a silver medal. Minor Boys raced a slightly longer distance of 1500m with Theo Duffy of St.Pauls claiming third and a team bronze also for St.Pauls.

The Junior girls race of 2000m saw four top 20 finishes for Raheny athletes with some help bringing another silver team medal back to Holy Faith Clontarf.

The junior boys race saw a silver and bronze medal for Raheny athletes all be it different schools. George Sevastopulo of Mount Temple claimed silver from his clubmate Conrad Latham of St.Pauls, helping St.Pauls to a silver team medal.

Great work to athletes and coaches.
