Women’s Team Take National Marathon Silver

The Raheny Shamrock senior women’s team took national marathon silver at last month’s Dublin marathon.

The team of Kate Purcell, Fiona Stack and Aine Crimin clocked 8:55.19 behind Donore Harriers but better than Clonmel to take silver.

The W50 team of Rose Kidd, Angela Charlton and Trish Fitzgerald took gold. The team were some nine minutes clear of Drogheda & District.

The W35 team of Tara Kennedy, Shirley Coyle and Elaine O’Hagan McNulty took 12th place.

The men’s team of Mark Kirwan, Graham Ahearne and Christopher Quaid took fifth place overall.

There was silver for the M50 team of Brian Kelly, Michael Kehoe and Gary Aylward. Grange Fermoy took gold in this race.

In M35 category, the team of Eoin Connolly, Colm Dunne and Oran Heron took 18th place.

Leinster Championship

In the Leinster championship, Kate Purcell took bronze. Fiona Stack took F35 bronze. Tara Kennedy took F45 gold. There was bronze for Fiona Kirwan in the F60 and Mary Lynch took F70 gold.

In the team events, the senior team took silver, with the F50 team taking gold.

Mark Kirwan took the Leinster M35 title. Tom Loftus took M65 bronze and M70 gold went to Maurice O’Connell. There was gold for the M50 team.
