Kieran Kelly won the Drogheda & District Christmas 5K in 15 minutes eight seconds.
Kelly was just ahead of the home town Tadhg Donnelly in 15:11. This was Kelly’s second win in a row in the Christmas race. Gareth Hogan clocked 18:47.
At the national race walks hosted by Raheny Shamrock in St Anne’s Park, Aurelien Quinion of France won the 35km open race in 2:39.05. Nick Christie of the USA was second in 2:41.03 with Germany’s Carl Dohmann third in 2:41.31.
The national championship went to Joe Mooney of Adamstown in 2:52.33. Kate Veale of West Waterford won the women’s race in 3:09.41.
