The Leinster secondary schools cross country took place on Wednesday February 8th in Santry Demesne.
Qualifiers from schools all over north, east, west, and south Leinster took to the line to represent their schools, with over 20 young Shamrocks among them.
The top-15 individuals in each race, plus the top three school teams qualify to represent their schools in the All-Ireland schools cross country in Waterford on Saturday March 11th.
It proved to be a very successful day for the young Raheny athletes with no less than 10 qualifiers from the club, seven individuals; two boys on a strong St. Paul’s junior boys team, and one on the Belvedere Senior Boys team.
Willow Agnew (Clonturk CC) – Minor Girls – 11th
Claire O’Leary (GC Reachrann) – Junior Girls – 7th
Elena Forkan (Sutton Park) – Intermediate Girls – 15th
Siomha Magee (The Institute of Education) – Senior Girls – 7th
Conrad Latham (St. Paul’s College) – Junior Boys – 9th
George Sevastopulo (Mount Temple) – Junior Boys – 13th
Jamie Whelan (Ardgillan Community College) – Intermediate Boys – 5th
St. Paul’s College Junior Boys were third team with Raheny well represented by Conrad Latham, Odhran Fidgeon, and Donagh Kirwin. Belvedere College Senior Boys were second team with Raheny represented by Chris Hamill.

Special mention to Siomha Magee who as well as qualifying as an individual in the senior girls race, lead her school team (The Institute of Education) to overall victory.
