Another big weekend for Raheny athletes as Mark Smyth set another club record and Brian Fay scored a massive win in America.
Fay won the 10,000m at the Pac12 champion meet in Walnut California clocking 28.24.90. Impressively Fay took a big sclap in the reigning NCAA cross-country champion Charles Hicks.
While, A number of Raheny athletes took to the Belfast International at the Mary Peter’s track on Saturday.
Mark Smyth set a new 200m club record of 20.70 seconds when he won the A race.
Michael Farrelly took second place in the 100m B race posting 11.13 seconds.
In the 1500m A race Kieran Kelly was ninth in 3:49.45. The race was won by Bram Buigel in 3:42.88.
Adam Condon posted 4:20.28 in the B race, while Shane Spring won the C race in 3:56.18. Andrew Hyland took eighth place in 4:02.39.
In the 400m C race Oisin McCorry took fifth place in 50.56 seconds. While in the 800m D race Daniel Scully placed ninth in 2:09.29.
Elsewhere on Friday night Orla Comerford set a new 100m PB of 12.47 seconds when finishing second in the Jesolo Para Grand Prix in Italy.
