Juveniles shine at Dublin Championships

Sunday saw the last of the six days of the Dublin juvenile championships.

It started back on May 27th in lovely sunny Tallaght with our smallest shamrocks competing in the team competition. Athletes are paired up and combined results determine finishing places.

We had 24 teams enter, a record for the club! All the kids had a great experience.
Our top results were;
Eli Esim and Sam McGloin 1st Long Jump 3rd 60m u11
Ben Synott and Cian Cooney 3rd 500m u10
Ben also won bronze in the individual 500m u10

Over the next four days our u12-u19 athletes competed across many events coming out with lots of medals and plenty of PBs.

Top four in each category qualified to Nationals in July.
U12 Keanna Esim 60m 3rd
U13 Anna Sheehan 4th 60m

We also had finalists across the board. With potentially eight heats in some categories getting into the final is a massive achievement for our young athletes.

Matthew Peelo 6th u12 600m
Liam Mancini Moore 800m and 1500m u15 finalist
Theo Duffy u15 finalist
Esther Ntoko 3000m and 1500m finalist 6th place finish
Christian Finn 8th u18 1500m
Mark Salmon 6th 3000m

A huge thank you to the coaches for prepping the athletes to this high level and to the parents for patiently bringing them to many locations across the county.

Also to Dublin Athletic Board and their army of volunteers for putting on all the comps.
