Orla Comerford came agonisingly close to a medal at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris.
Comerford clocked 12.22 for fourth place just 0.06 seconds off bronze. 100m T13 Gold went to Lamiya Valiyeva of Azerbaijan in 11.99.
Spain’s Adiaratour Iglesias took silver on a photo fininsh behind Valiyeva with Bianca Borgella of Canada taking bronze.

“Honestly, I’ve mixed emotions about it” explained Comerford. “I came here to be top four and I am so delighted and I can’t put into words how delighted I am to finish top four”.
Comerford’s fourth-place finish does qualify a slot for Team Ireland for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris next summer.
“It takes a massive weight off me for next year. Obviously after yesterday’s run, I was hoping for bronze, but it wasn’t to be”.
