Weekend Road Racing Round-Up

As we transition from the track and field season, there was some big road race runs by club members this weekend.

Gavin Judge completed the Kerry way Ultra 200km in 37 hours 43 minutes nine seconds.

Meanwhile, At the Dingle Marathon Siobhan Bolton posted 4:05:00 and Angela Charlton clocked 4:35:27. In the half-marathon Des Kennedy posted 1:25:46 and Tommy Crampton 1:59:45.

At the Ardee & District Seamie Weldon 5km Rachel Ormrod posted 23:20, while at the 10k Ger Fay posted 54:37.

Mick Clohisey took second place the Lucan 5 Mile in 25:07. Peter Somba won out in 25:05.

Clohisey was followed home by David Jackson in 29:20 and Hugh Carberry 32:35. That gave the team 50 points, but unfortunately saw them lose out to Lucan Harriers on countback.

Also running were, Fintan O’Hanlon 38:03, Niall Buckley 38:44, David Dooley 39:25, Angela Charlton 44:07 and Ger Fay 44:16.

Meanwhile at the IWA Run n Roll in St. Anne’s Park, Caitriona Costello was first Raheny athlete home in 21:06 followed by Niall Buckley 25:56, Keith Fleming 25:57, Connor Jennings 27:23, David McDonnell 27:54 and Karen Bates 31:54.

At the Rathangan 5km Aoibhe Rooney was first woman home in 20:43.

Stephen Butler took second place in Portmarnock Beach run on Friday.

Butler posted 16:59. While, Annette Kealy won the ladies race in 18:54 with Zoe Quinn second in 19:07.
