Mark Smyth got his indoor season underway with victory at the TUS baseline meet in AIT.
Smyth was a straight forward winner of the 300 metres in 34.18 seconds. Smyth had .30 seconds to spare on Tullamore’s Aaron Keane.
Also over 300m at the same event, Conor Duffy clocked 42.78 seconds. Earlier this week, Smyth and Niamh McCorry were part of the DCU team who had a 40 point win in a match with University Limerick.
While, on Wednesday at the NIA meet in the national indoor arena, Michael Farrelly clocked 7.07 seconds for 60m. Farrelly finished second in heat three. Farrelly then won heat two of the series two race posting 7.02 seconds.
