Women’s Team Just Outside National Novice Medals

The Raheny Shamrock women’s team were just off the bronze medal at the national novice in Navan racecourse.

The women’s team took fourth place, just 13 points off bronze medallists Clonliffe.

Aoibheann McGoldrick was first home in 17th place followed by Kate Crowley 27th, Orla Smith 49th and Sarah Deneher 55th. That gave the women’s team 148 points.

However, Clonliffe took bronze with 135 points. Gold went to Leevale with 82 points, while Dublin City Harriers took silver with 102 points.

Also racing and performing very well in one of the most competitive races of the season was, Blaithin Sheil 71st, Clare Fox 82nd, Aoife Nagle 102nd and Orla Gilheaney 106th.

The men’s team took sixth place, led home by Shane Spring in 20th place. Marcus O’Sullivan 32nd, Kevin Byrne 39th and Vengatramanakarthikeyan Meiazhagan 58th.

Also racing were, Barry Meehan 87th, Chris Quaid 124th, Giovanni Salvatore 127, Mark McComish 147 and Robert Fox 155.
