Kirwan and McGoldrick Takes Christmas Day Honours

Cillian Kirwan claimed the 2024 Raheny Shamrock AC Goal mile (run down the avenue) after a battle with Kieran Kelly.

Kirwan pulled away from the defending champion with just over 60 metres remaining to win out in three minutes 34 seconds (hand timed).

Kelly was just two seconds behind to take second place.

Aoibhinn McGoldrick was first woman home and claimed the Giblin Cup, clocking four minutes 21 seconds.

The first junior woman home was Sophie Kelly, winning the Noel Power cup with Darragh Donohoe coming home as first junior man.

Mark O’Callaghan was the first juvenile home.

Second placed Kieran Kelly correctly picked his estimated time of three minutes and 36 seconds to claim the Brian McLaughlin cup.

Tom and Carl O’Sullivan were bang on the money in their prediction for the Fox Cup as first parent and child.

Many thanks to everyone who took part on what was a huge turn-out in St Anne’s Park. The clock ran for 40 minutes at the finish of the race!

Remember the St Stephen’s Day Paarlauf takes place at 12 noon tomorrow, opposite the playground in St. Anne’s Park.

A paarlauf is a continuous 20 minute team relay. Everyone is welcome, regardless of standard or age. Teams will be decided on the day.
