Gold Medal Laden Leinster Masters

Kate Purcell was first home at the Leinster masters cross country as she led the Raheny O/35 team to gold.

Purcell won the race outright taking O/40 gold with Fiona Roche third overall taking O/40 bronze. Purcell, Roche and Sharon Keilthy combined to land the O/35 team title.

Also competing strongly were Aoife Nagle (45th overall). Jenny Colbert (71st), Patricia O’Cleirigh (73rd), Jean Dunne (81st), Deirdre O’Dwyer (84th) and Angela Charlton (87th).

The O/35 men’s team of David Kirwan, John Dunne, Mark Kirwan and Ronan Wogan took gold with 37 points! One point ahead of Rathfarnham WSAF.

There was gold also for the O/50 team of Ciaran McCarthy, Terry Keogh and Brian Kelly with 116 points, well clear of Metro St. Brigids with 148 points.

David Kirwin was first O/45 followed by John Dunne who took silver in the same category. Ciaran McCarthy took O/50 gold.

Also competing were David Jackson (47th), Niall O’Neill (72nd), Dave Woods (91st), Keith Fleming (94th), Franesco Petronu (99th) and Brian McWeeney (116th).
