Busy Marathon Roads Weekend

There was plenty of action in the city marathon this May bank holiday weekend.

In Copenhagen, David Kirwin posted 2:42.16, while Kate Purcell set a new personal best of 2:46.22.

At the Belfast City Marathon Anthony Eames posted 2:42:43 followed by Dara Mac Riocaird 2:49:25, Wesley Grant 2:55:30 and Carl Moore 3:50:17.

While at the Limerick Marathon Christopher Quaid clocked 2:56:48 and at the Waterville Trail Marathon Rachel Ormrod posted 6:00:26.

Returned to Limerick and in the half-marathon Olivia Mooney clocked 1:52:34 and in the 10k Jane Hedigan posted 58:25

Meanwhile, Fiona Roche won the Drogheda 10k in 36:33. Roche was followed home by Colm Dunne 38:03, Gerard Curley 38:54, Keith Fleming 41:02, Mick King 42:57.

John Friar 51:11, Michael Carr 53:01, Lorna Christie 53:28, Gerard Fay 57:16, Gerry Christie 58:55 and Angela Charlton 61:04.

Also just a result that came to us a little late during the week. Last Sunday, Kate Crowley posted 2:54.05 in the Hamburg marathon with Will Walsh posting 2:59.34.
