It was a solid start to the indoor track and field league at the national indoor arena.
The league started with round two as round one was postponed from its original date on January fifth.
Jamie Davis men’s side got off to a solid start with David Konovalov posting 7.16 seconds for the fourth fastest 60 metres of the day.
In the 1500m Adam Condon posted 4:16.16 for 10th place. Des O’Neill won heat three of the 400m in 50.21 for third place overall.
The 4x200m team of David Konovalov, Des O’Neill, Samuel Mateo, Erik Sammon posted 1:34.75 for second in heat one and fifth overall.
In the high jump Samuel Mateo took sixth place with a best of 1.70m. Mateo also took 13th place in the triple jump with a best of 5.10m.
In the shot put David Moore took 14th place with a best of 7.23 metres.
Iseult O’Donnell stared for the Helen Buckley’s women’s team taking second place in the 1500m posting 4:35.31.
Katerina Ledecka clocked 68.99 seconds in the 400m. Isabel Towmey posted 8.31 seconds for fourth place in heat three of the 60 metres.
The 4x200m team of Isabel Twomey, Emily Keogh, Alexandra Keating, Eileen McCarthy posted 1:52.84 for 11th place.
Helen Buckey took fourth place in the shot put with a best of 8.55. While, Penny Clarke Doran took eighth place in the long jump with a best of 4.39m.
Round one of the national indoor league has been rescheduled for February eighth in TUS Athlone indoor arena.
