Thanks to the club members who agreed to avail of a mobile Cardiac Screening Programme delivered by Advanced Medical Services (AMS).
However, we require 15 more candidates in order for the programme to proceed.
The screening, which takes 20 minutes, can help identify people with risk of underlying cardiac abnormalities/heart disease.
But like all screening programmes, it cannot guarantee 100% of picking up all cardiac issues including coronary artery disease.
The programme mainly targets people aged between 12-35 years. However, people over this age can benefit from the screening as well.
The screening consists of a:
- Personal & Family History Questionnaire
- Physical examination with Medical Doctor
- Body Max Index (BMI) measurement
- Blood pressure reading
- 12 lead (resting) Electrocardiogram
- Cardiologist Report
The individual fee for the Cardiac Screening service is €79 (the Club doesn’t receive any % of this fee). It is free for anyone with LAYA Health Insurance.
People with other health insurance may be able to claim a % back or it is tax deductible.
