Sophie Becker took second place at her season opener at the IFAM meet in Brussells.
Becker posted 51.69 seconds over individual 400 metres for second place with Britain’s Emily Newnham winning out in 51.45 seconds. Belgium’s Imke Vervaet took third place in 51.70 seconds.
Whereas, Des O’Neill took third place in the junior 400m hurdles in 52.61 seconds for third place a European Junior championship “B” standard.
The race was won by Quinten De Vos of the Netherlands in 51.86 seconds with Italy’s Tommaso Ardizzone second in 51.96 seconds.
While Michael Farrell ran the third leg of the Irish men’s 4x100m which won out in 40.14 seconds. The Netherland’s U23 team was second in 40.18 seconds with Ireland’s U23 team third in 40.66 seconds.
