Orla Comerford Claims World Title

Orla Comerford stunned a packed New Delhi stadium to become World Para-Athletics Champion.

Comerford powered over the line in a time of 11.88 seconds to win her first World Championship medal, gold.

“It feels amazing!” declared Comerford. “I feel like all season this was my goal, it’s not one you want to put out there and be like I want gold I want to be champion but I kind of kept my head down I knew that I had to work hard.”

Comerford has been going from strength to strength since the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, where she took T13 100m bronze in 11.94 seconds.

Comerford is set to take part in the 200 metres with the heats scheduled for Tuesday.

A very big congratulations to Orla on her World Championship and we look forward to supporting her on Tuesday.
